I was totally overwhelmed when I bought my grandmothers house. I had never done a big renovation like this and I had no clue where to start. Katie was calm, reassuring, and totally got that while I wanted it to be updated I wanted to keep some of the design features that made the house my grandmothers home. Katie Baldwin is literally a secret weapon when it comes to managing renovations, decorating, and moving into a new home. We bought a weekend home in Salisbury, Connecticut and our realtor introduced us to Katie to help oversee renovations and decorating while we spent the weekdays in our primary residence in New York City. Not only did Katie manage our renovating team -- from painters to plumbers to carpenters to tile workers -- but she helped us find top notch vendors when we needed new sources and oversaw every single step of the process. She created incredibly detailed to-do lists and timelines for each vendor and ensured they all stuck to the schedule, which is nearly unheard of when it comes to renovations. She helped me source everything from fabrics to furniture to faucets, and made every installation seamless. I thought I was a perfectionist until I met Katie! She made sure every item that we purchased fit and worked perfectly -- if something was off by the tiniest millimeter she'd find it and fix it. I was so comfortable leaving things in her hands while I was in the city during the week because her standards for meticulous work are unparalleled. I can't speak highly enough about Katie and her talents. What could easily have turned into a yearlong process of headaches and mistakes became the easiest and most enjoyable project ever. We were able to get everything done in a few months and have our new home ready for us to enjoy by the holiday season, only three months after we started the project.
